FILM 387 - INTRODUCTION TO EXPERIMENTAL VIDEO AND INSTALLATION ART Credits: 3 Learn to create unique experiences by sculpting time and space. With an emphasis on production and practice, this course introduces students to installation art and non-traditional, experimental uses of video, including non-linear narrative, experimental documentary, and video art. Students will learn the basic tools and techniques of digital video production and work with a wide range of materials and media to create installation works on the Rice campus. Students will also be asked to engage and experiment with the visual language of video by working to complete a number of short projects that will be critiqued in class.
