Course Description / Linear algebra and introduction to vector methods in engineering analysis. Statics and dynamics of rigid bodies and matrix analysis of trusses and networks. Engineering design problems. Course Objectives / **know the fundamentals of rigid body statics and dynamics and the ability to apply these methods to the solution of engineering problems; **know the role of linear algebra and vector methods in engineering analysis; **have the ability to formulate and solve systems of equations using MATLAB®; **employ MATLAB® to carry out parameter studies and process results (plots and graphs) in analysis for design problems; **possess the groundwork for later courses dealing with mechanics of deformable media.
