This course offers an in-depth review of the eye-tracking methodology in scientific research, with emphasis on students’ ability to create and critically evaluate eye-tracking studies. The following topics are included: physiological aspects of seeing; visual search; top-down versus bottom-up processing; high-level scene viewing; change blindness and mental imagery; eye-tracking in psycholinguistics; reading of simple and complex texts; eye movements in vehicles; eye movements and disabilities; eye-tracking and usability; eye movements in consumer studies; ethics in eye-tracking research; stimulus production; data formats; writing project applications.
