POST 411 - INTERGRATED APPROACHES TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Credits: 1 Course URL: http://sustainabledevelpment.rice.edu This is a multidisciplinary course in which students explore the connection between energy, health and poverty and the implications for sustainable development, the role for science, technology and policy, and the 'energy ladder.' Students will learn about the barriers to sustainable development and be part of finding cost-effective, culturally appropriate solutions. Students in the course are eligible to apply for a summer internship in Maseru, Lesotho, during which they will identify challenges to sustainable development, and design and implement solutions. Enrollment requires instructor permission with a special registration form found on the Registrar's website under forms.
