While the first semester of statistics focused on the basic principles and theories of statistics, this semester will focus on learning AND applying the statistical techniques to data analysis and policy issues. To effectively apply these tools, it is essential for students to become skilled in using a statistical processing program such as Stata. This course will familiarize students with Stata and the tools available, provide opportunities for “hands-on” experiences conducting data analysis and enhance students’ critical thinking and analytical skills. Students will have considerable support for the statistical programming and data analysis activities via sample programs, in-class demonstrations and hands-on activities in the lab.
