The course aims at examining cultural policy in Denmark at the present time. This is done by introducing to different perspectives: A historical, a rhetorical, a legislative, a financial and an institutional. The multiple perspectives on cultural policy gives a more nuanced and complex understanding and gives the students the ability to perform critical analyses of the way they combine.

The purpose of the module is to give students the opportunity independently but under supervision to formulate a project topic within anthropology and through independent work acquire in-depth literature-based knowledge of this area. The project must address an issue that can be studies with anthropological theories and methods. The topic of the project must be arranged with and approved by a supervisor.

The aim of the module/course is to give the student theoretical and practical knowledge of how to communicate an issue through different media and to different groups of recipients. The course introduces the student to different forms of communication of anthropological knowledge (visual, audio, museum, performative, etc.) to different types of recipients. The course also enables the student to gain practical experience in group work on developing and communicating an anthropologically-oriented project.

The aim of the course is to introduce students to ethnographic methods and give them practical experience in conducting small ethnographic studies. Methodology is an intensive course, where key aspects of an ethnographic study, such as formulation of issues, survey questions, choice of method, data collection through interviews and participant observation, analysis and presentation of results, are introduced and clarified through literature, presentations and practical exercises. Throughout the course, the student works independently or in groups on formulating his/her own project, which is to be conducted towards the end of the course.

The course familiarises the student with selected approaches to historical and global perspectives of anthropological and ethnographical topics. The aim is to show how social and cultural phenomena are part of global and historical processes. With an historical and global perspective, the student gains insight into the local history and global context and into how global processes play out and are interpreted locally. The course introduces basic concepts concerning globalisation in connection with specific examples. The primary focus is on empirical examples.

The course introduces the student to an ethnographic region on the basis of the study of selected anthropological issues and research traditions. The aim of the course is to give the student solid knowledge about the human, social and cultural conditions in the region in question.
