The aim of the discipline is an introduction into the single-medial expressive dimensions (text, picture, sound, staging) and their particular operational modes and various usages including the respective forms of art (literature, visual art, music and theatre). The expressive dimensions are examined during their actual application including their combined applications and viewed in relation to their historical establishment, traditions and transformations. The student works analytically with aesthetical processes of signification and with aesthetical production processes - single- and multi-medially. Moreover, the student works with elements of study introduction, including the use of libraries and central tools and techniques from the work with the search for literature and information in general and through various media, though with particular emphasis on IT and Internet, including introductions to various databases and search engines.
