The aim of the discipline is to give an introduction to single-medial expressive dimensions (text, picture, sound, staging), their particular means of application operational modes as well as inter-mediality including the respective arts (literature, visual art, music, theatre and various combinations of these). The expressive dimensions are studied in their actual application though viewed in relation to their historical establishment, tradition and in their combined quality and intermediality. The student works analytically with medial signification processes and production processes, single- and multi-medially and organised into different courses, combinations, processes and workshops organised by the person in charge of the laboratory and a team of teachers, which to the extent possible covers several medial expressive dimensions.
